Psalms 1

The gentle patter of rain puts my heart at ease.  The earth is drinking in the beautiful nutriment from heaven, and yes it is beautiful in it's own way.

Last week we started reading through psalms with Papa Ken. One of my all time favorite parts of the week is when we go up to Papa Ken's house and sit around his table and talk about the Lord and all he is doing and speaking through his word.

One of our assignments was to rewrite psalms 1 in our own words.
I wanted to share what I wrote for verses 1-3.

Great is the one who chooses his community wisely and does not walk with lawless men.

He loves the nature of the Lord and is not afraid to search it out day and night, night and day.

His roots are deep and he drinks in the living water. Therefore his life is filled with the fruits of the spirit in abundance, and wherever he walks life springs forth.

The wicked have no roots and cannot stand, but are blown away by the very wind that should have made them strong.

With no roots it is impossible to stand next to those who's roots are deep.
